The R&D Cell is the central office driving VCE’s research strategy and innovation goals.
The institution has developed a strong and expanding Ph.D. research supervision ecosystem, with faculty members actively serving as recognized Ph.D. supervisors in Private Universities, Deemed-to-be Universities, and Universities of National Importance. A total of 58 faculty members have been identified and recognized as eligible research supervisors, contributing significantly to advanced research and human resource development across Science and Engineering thrust areas. This robust supervisory framework reflects the institution’s commitment to research excellence, interdisciplinary scholarship, and alignment with national research priorities.
During the academic year 2022–23, 46 Ph.D. scholars were engaged in ongoing research under the guidance of these supervisors. The research footprint further expanded in 2023–24, with 61 scholars actively pursuing doctoral research, demonstrating a steady increase in research intake and capacity. In the academic year 2024–25, 50 Ph.D. scholars are currently undergoing research across diverse domains, including engineering, technology, and fundamental sciences. The consistent involvement of faculty, research scholars, and external university research ecosystems underscores the institution’s role as a significant contributor to doctoral education, knowledge creation, and high-impact research outcomes.
